Duleek Quarry, Duleek, Co. Meath

On behalf of Keegan Quarries Limited, following the acquisition of the quarry from Lagan Ireland. Quarryplan Limited secured consent for further development of Duleek Quarry following the issue of substitute consent and period of the site being mothballed.

The planning application provided for the continuation of use and further quarrying within the 57.5Ha site a lateral extension and secured extraction to 30mAOD, furthermore, it also provided for a new administration office, a new administration office, concrete batching plant and a low-level block making yard, along with the relocation of ESB infrastructure. The application was accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report and associated Natura Impact Statement and a Notice to Grant was issued by Meath County Council in June 2021, the decision was subject to a third-party appeal to An Bord Pleanála and was subsequently approved with a reduction in the associated development contributions. This consent, initially 18 years, regularises extraction at the site and provides the operator with a strategic location adjacent to the M1 north of Dublin with the ability to produce a full range of aggregates and valued added products and construct a new administrative hub for the business
