Stancombe Quarry
Tarmac operates a substantial limestone quarry at Stancombe near Bristol which is the largest quarry in the North Somerset Council area. Tarmac also has a major landholding with long-term potential although these areas are not allocated in the local Development Plan(LDP).The proposal was to secure an allocation in the new LDP to maintain the long-term future of the quarry.
