Town Planner

Due to continued success and growth, we are looking to recruit a Town Planner on a full time, permanent basis, interested in the full range of environmental topics.

Based in Crossgar, Co. Down, the work will be mainly office-based but will also involve visiting various site/project locations and therefore a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel is essential throughout the UK, Ireland and further afield, when required.

The successful candidate will be joining a team, providing planning advice with the guidance of the senior staff and commitment to the continued professional and personal development, with a view of obtaining chartership and career progression.

The Role:

• Preparation and submission of Planning Applications;
• Coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments;
• Preparation of Written and Technical Reports and associated mapping;
• Management of subcontractors;
• Assisting clients with condition compliance;
• Project budgeting within allocated costs;
• Review and comment on technical reports;
• Managing client relationships, providing regular project updates.

The Person:

• Educated to degree level  or hold a relevant planning or equivalent qualification;
• Knowledge of town planning legislation, policies and procedures;
• RTPI – recently qualified or working towards full membership (or equivalent body)
• Minimum of two year’s relevant post qualification experience through industry, consultancy or the public sector, is preferred.
• Excellent communication and written skills;
• Self-motivated, team player.
